Being a little fed up with touristy western style restaurants in Samui ? Try a more traditional (and cheaper) option
Chaweng is the heart of Ko Samui. The most developed beach and resort area, with a mix of uptown hotels and backpacker hostels/guesthouses. Concerning food, there is a HUGE variety of restaurants, and fast food offerings, covering almost every taste, from traditional Thai to Western, to other oriental etc.
One of the best and maybe the cheapest is trying the Chaweng Night Market Food Center, located between the small lake and the main road
The night food market works the same as everywhere else in Thailand. You can select (cheap but nice) food and drink from a variety of vendors, you sit down in a table in the central area and you enjoy! For example I selected roast chicken, rice noodles, and fried potato on a stick from three different vendors. I shared the chicken with some others from my group, others got sticky rice from yet another stall, oysters from a fifth, etc. You get the idea.
